Katharina Novac has been appointed president of the Miami Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Nowak previously served as vice president of business operations for races. At 28, she became the youngest president of the Formula One event and one of two women in roles around the world. She will replace Tyler Epp, who has led the event since 2022 and has left the position of accepting new roles elsewhere.

Tom Garfinkel, managing partner of the Miami Formula 1 Grand Prix, said:

“She is one of the most talented young executives I’ve done and I know that I will continue to build on what’s been established here. We are committed to innovating the fan experience and providing world-class events for our drivers, teams and fans. We would also like to thank Tyler for his leadership.

Nowak joined the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium Enterprises in 2019, where he played numerous roles for the organization in events, corporate partnerships and business operations. In 2023, she was encouraged to oversee the operations of the Miami Grand Prix and was named vice president in 2024. In this role, she led collaboration across all business and operations departments involved in building and running the Grand Prix, led organizational relationships with Formula 1, served as a key negotiator for business and partnership opportunities, and directed all strategic plans for the race.

Nowak, a native of Vienna, Austria, graduated with a degree in advertising/public relations from Loyola University Chicago.

“I am humble and excited to take on this new role as president,” Nowak said. “In this new chapter, our goals remain the same. We will continue to provide exceptional events to our stakeholders as elite on-track action and fan-first experiences take place at the heart of everything.
