Liverpool has already turned their eyes to the transfer business next summer, and recently they have focused on one particular deal.

This is a warning from many clubs (particularly Real Madrid) as Conate, whose contract is expected to expire in June next year, has yet to agree to terms on the new deal. Liverpool wants to protect him, but their patience seems to be fading.

According to Mick Brown (via Football Insider), Liverpool is gradually beginning to reconcile with a possible exit for Conate next summer, as his field performance continues to create frustration.

“It is said that Liverpool is ready for Conate to leave. They certainly don’t want to run out of the back, so they have to replace them, but if they can replace him, they are happy to let him go.

“It’s clear they couldn’t put Guehi in so Konate is still a very important player for them and he can’t afford to keep making mistakes. The manager hopes he’s been miles away from it and would get furious at him after that performance.

“They needed strikers and spent £125 million on Isaac. They wanted a midfielder. They spent £110 million on Wirtz.

If Konate is replaced by Marc Guehi, it could be one free agent. At this stage, Liverpool will probably be happy with it if it did.
