Liverpool collided with a 1-0 defeat against Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League, but that wasn’t the only thing that came out of the game.
Goalkeeper Alison Becker has been injured and will now miss a clash with Chelsea in the upcoming Premier League clash.
Allison Becker misses Chelsea crash
Liverpool has yet to determine the true extent of the damage, but manager Arne Slot has confirmed that the Brazilian will certainly miss a match against the London club.
“It’s not positive if you miss something like this,” Liverpool boss slot told Amazon Prime (H/T Talksport). “You can make sure he wasn’t playing on Saturday.
“We’re waiting and seeing how long it will take, but he definitely won’t play on Saturday.”
A big hit for Liverpool
The Brazilian is one of Liverpool’s best players this season. He kept them in a match against Crystal Palace over the weekend and was very impressive for the Turkish outfit as early as tonight.
His absence against Chelsea will be a major blow to the club. They were very disappointing and their performance was mediocre. Allison has saved them many times this season. It would be interesting to see if they could get the job done in his absence. They currently have lost two consecutive matches in all competitions, and the upcoming game against Chelsea will be a difficult challenge.
The Blues will be equally inconsistent and will be desperate to bounce back hard. They are now fully aware that Liverpool is vulnerable and they are trying to make the most of the opportunity.
Liverpool are currently at the top of the league table, but they are heading towards a difficult equipment run, and a loss against Chelsea can send them downward spirals. Without their best goalkeeper, future Premier League matches will be a big challenge.
