  • Jamie Carrager gives a strange theory about Reuben Amorim
  • Man United has identified possible alternatives

The unfortunate run under Manchester United’s Reuben Amorim has put pressure on the Portuguese coach.

Carragher is critical of both the team’s performance and the overall atmosphere at the club, suggesting that the job may already be beyond repairs.

Since taking charge of last season, Amorim has endured turbulent spells and has overseen 17 defeats in 33 Premier League matches.

Ir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos are offering public support, but the pitch results did not convince the supporters.

For Brentford, United were late early, never truly recovering, and raised further questions about whether Amorim is the right man to lead the project.

Carragher believes Amorim is still in a united position as the club’s hierarchy has not admitted that he made a mistake in his appointment.

Carragher, as reported by Daily Mail:

“I think he’s still at work because the power at Man United made a lot of mistakes on and off the pitch that they don’t want to admit right now that they’ve now made something else.

“This was a disaster for Man United and Reuben Amorim. What he did in Sports Lisbon was great and he looked like the next big thing as a manager. But it wasn’t suited to the Man United tradition and I think it would be good for everyone because it was a disaster for the manager, not just for the club but for the manager.

“We’re just waiting for the inevitable, but unfortunately we don’t want to see people lose their jobs, but this has to be finished as soon as possible.”

Former Liverpool defender added:

“I think every other Premier League manager would see Man United and think, ‘I can do a better job than that.’

Gareth Southgate, Oliver Glasner, Marco Silva and even Zabi Hernandez have been linked to the roles of the past few weeks.

Amorim claims he is not worried about losing his job, and critics believe the situation is getting worse quickly. For United, the dilemma is clear, sticking with managers who struggle to gain momentum or make another famous change in search of stability.

The coming weeks will be extremely important to the Portuguese manager at Old Trafford.
