Chelsea are considering improving their defensive units when the transfer window opened in January.
They identified the central defence unit as key areas they wanted to improve during the winter transfer period. According to Fichajes, the injury has exhausted them to the centre of their defense, and Chelsea are trying to solve that issue with a quality signature in January.
Defenders turn their eyes to Chelsea
They link to players like Marc Guehi, but his asking price can complicate any potential move. It will be interesting to see if it can bring the right additions in January.
They have recognized eight goals in six league matches and need to improve in that area of the pitch. Chelsea are desperate for a top four finish and are also hoping to fight for the trophy. They recently won the UEFA Europa Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup last season. They now aim to fight for major trophies based on that. They compete in the UEFA Champions League and face off against elite attackers. They need to be tightened at the back.
Can they improve their defense?
It’s no surprise that they want to bring in a quality central defender in January. It is still unclear whether we can find the right players that will help improve at a reasonable cost.
They’ve done well to improve their team during the summer transfer period, and they’re aiming for a successful season. If they can insert a defensive gap on the side, there’s no reason why they can’t succeed this season.
