Tottenham Hotspur has had a great start under Thomas Frank in the past few weeks, with Dane at the helm of only one of his first nine games.
Part of his success in North London has led to the immediate impact of summer additional Mohamed Kudus, with Ghanaians nailing his position in the starting eleven.
The £55 million cost from 25-year-old Premier League rival West Ham United has already run and is helping Lily White succeed.
He has already registered four assists in all competitions, two of which came on the first day with a 3-0 victory over Burnley.
Such achievements coincided with records recorded by one other first team member, but in the early stages of the 2025/26 campaign, no new additions have yet to appear with him.
James Madison’s highs and Spurs lows
James Madison became the first player in the Spurs’ Premier League history to register two assists in his league debut, and was later joined by Kudus.
The British returned to Lily White in the summer of 2023 to earn fees in the £40 million area from Leicester City after Fox was demoted before the season.
Since his transfer, he has scored 75 appearances for Lily White, scoring 16 times and registering 19 assists in all competitions, but such numbers don’t convey the whole.
The injury has been causing great trouble for the 28-year-old in recent years, already suffering four injuries in two years of spells, and has since missed 25 games through various setbacks.
Madison has since suffered an ACL injury, which is expected to add to his frustration and miss most of Dane’s first campaign.
It is undeniable that the attacking midfielder is a huge talented player, but ultimately his lack of fitness prevents him from making a consistent impact all the time.
As a result, he could easily lose ten shirts in the near future, and there is already one player in the book worthy of the opportunity to wear such a historic shirt.
Spurs Star Can Steal Madison #10
Over the past few years, the Spurs have been lucky enough to see multiple top talents wearing 10 shirts – as much as former striker Harry Kane.
The centre forward appeared through the ranks in North London and then made his mark on the first team, solidifying Lily White’s history forever.
He found the net on 280 occasions during a decade-long spell with the club, and then surpassed the late Jimmy Greaves, becoming the best top score of all time.
However, Madison was a player who inherited such a shirt after the former left and joined Bayern Munich, but the club may try to pass the responsibility of wearing such a historic number to another first-team star.
Pape Matar Sarr joined the Lilywhites as an unknown amount for many supporters, but it’s safe to say he’s now one of the club’s best players.
Senegal International took part in 2021 for just £14.6 million, but had to wait until the following summer to make his first competitive appearance in English outfit.
However, since such a day, the 23-year-old has not looked back, and has earned over 100 appearances in all competitions.
Called “incredible” by Jamie O’Hara, Searle has already registered goals and two assists on the UK’s top flight this season, highlighting the quality of his offensive despite his deep role.
He has now posted a total of 10 goals and eight assists since his transition to the UK.

At 23, he has enough time based on his early successes in North London and could play a key role in the future successes achieved during Frank’s tenure.
As a result, he was able to easily hand over the No. 10 shirt from the club to reflect his importance, but given his recent struggle, such a decision could prove tough in Madison.
However, football is a cruel industry and it is still unclear what level the British are at after such injuries layoffs.
