Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is under huge pressure after a disappointing start to the season.
There were rumors that Amorim could soon be shown the door. Manchester United have already crashed out of the English League Cup and have won three Premier League games.
Although the Portuguese manager is supported by quality signings, he has failed to deliver results on the pitch. Manchester United are still quite mediocre in their style of football and their performance is inconsistent.
Perhaps changes need to be made soon, and former Premier League defender Jamie Carragher believes the Portuguese manager is likely to be sacked by Christmas.
Reuben Amorim’s Karagar
A critic said in the Overlap Fans discussion: “I hate saying that the manager should be sacked. It’s disrespectful and it’s a man’s job. But at that point I think Ruben Amorim’s job is unacceptable, it is inevitable that this will happen before Christmas.”
“His statistics are incredible for a Manchester United manager. In 50 games as Manchester United manager, he only scored two goals more than he was allowed.”
Who will replace Amorim?
Manchester United have already been linked with several managerial names. It will be interesting to see who they bring in to replace him.
Amorim was highly rated across Europe and did a great job at Sporting CP before moving to Manchester United. He would be completely disappointed in how the move to Manchester United worked out for him. He would have expected to lead them to a trophy.
It will be interesting to see if Manchester United can help turn that around in the coming weeks. The club hierarchy has been very patient with him, but they are unlikely to stick around with him anymore unless there is a dramatic improvement.
