  • Tottenham striker Richarlison is wanted by MLS side Orlando City
  • Richarlison impressed under Thomas Frank

Tottenham striker Richarlison continues to be linked with an away move, with several clubs showing interest in his signature.

Everton are said to be keen on the striker leaving after impressing during his time at Goodison Park.

Newcastle have also been linked with Richarlison for some time, with the Saudi Pro League having long praised the Brazilian as well.

There is no shortage of suitors for the 28-year-old, and the latest reports suggest that another club is interested in the player.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Orlando City managers have flown to London to meet with people close to Richarlison.

He said the club’s interest was genuine and officials had presented the project to Tottenham’s player representatives.

Interest is said to be at an early stage, with no offer made yet and no financial terms discussed.

Romano shared an update on YouTube, saying, “I can confirm that Orlando of MLS has made an approach to Richarlison.”

“So what happened is that Orlando recently arrived in London with his directors, met with people close to Richarlison and presented Richarlison with the possibility of future projects.

“Orlando has interest and ambition in signing Richardson. It’s still early days. There’s been no formal offer and no financial terms have been discussed. Basically what Orlando wanted to say was to tell Richardson, ‘We like you. We’re interested in you.’ Let’s see what happens in the near future.”

“Orlando are really interested, but now it depends on what happens with Tottenham because he is still an important player for Tottenham and is considered important internally.”

Richarlison impressed under Thomas Frank

Richarlison has yet to live up to his reputation since joining from Everton for £60m in 2022.

His time at the club was marred by injuries and poor form, with the striker scoring just one goal in the league in his debut season with Spurs.

There was some improvement in his second season, with Richarlison finishing the season with 11 goals in 28 games.

Last season was plagued by injuries, with the Brazilian missing most of the season due to various injuries.

However, he has been in great form since joining Spurs this season. The inclusion of Thomas Frank also appears to have paid off, with the former Everton player having started five games so far and scoring three goals.

Richarlison’s numbers this season paint a picture of a forward quietly finding his rhythm in front of goal.

The Brazilian has scored three times and has an expected goals against (xG) of 1.68, suggesting he has been clinical in his chances rather than wasting them.

He averages a goal every 151 minutes, with a solid return equivalent to roughly one strike every one-and-a-half games, numbers that most managers would be happy to take away from a centre-forward.

With 0.4 goals per game, Richarlison has proven to be a consistent contributor in attack, even when he’s not scoring. In fact, he averages 2.1 shots per game, with 0.7 of them on target. That means about a third of his efforts are testing the goalie.
