Arsenal and Newcastle United are reported to be among the suitors for Real Madrid’s talented young attacking midfielder Arda Güler.
However, it is clear that Los Blancos do not want to sell the Turkish international and are prepared to demand up to 150 million euros for his release.
Ficajes added that the amount was far beyond Arsenal’s reach and could be imagined to be out of Newcastle’s reach.
Guler has shown recently that he is an elite young talent, overcoming some early problems at Madrid and settling into a more regular starter this season under new manager Xabi Alonso.
Arda Güler transfer is unrealistic for Arsenal and Newcastle
It is certainly not easy for anyone to lure Guler away from Real Madrid right away, as it is hard to imagine that many clubs would be willing to pay as much as €150 million for him.
The 20-year-old is certainly a player with world-class potential and was described by one of his former coaches in Marca as “extraordinary”, as quoted and translated by this article from BBC Sport.
But in this age of Financial Fair Play regulations, clubs like Arsenal and Newcastle cannot afford to spend so much money on a single player.
Arda Guler should stay at Real Madrid
As with everything else, there also appears to be no particular reason for Guler to leave the Spanish capital now.
Alonso seems to have found a bigger role for himself and should become even more important following the summer departure of club legend Luka Modric.
Guler may be a creative playmaker for the Madrid team now, so it’s hard to imagine letting him go for anything other than crazy money unless his form drops significantly.
