Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandes is rumored to be on the verge of leaving the club in the coming months.

The South American has been a key player for Chelsea since joining the club and his performances have attracted the attention of Real Madrid. The Spanish team needs more quality and depth in the middle of the park and the World Cup winner would be an exceptional signing.

He adds creativity and control to the side from deep. Real Madrid have been without skilled players since the departures of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. It will be interesting to see if they can sign a Chelsea player in the coming months.

According to Football Insider, the player is happy with his time at Chelsea and has no intention of pushing for a move away from the club. This development will be a huge boost for Chelsea. They want to keep their best players at the club and Fernandes is definitely an essential asset. They want to compete for big trophies and cannot afford to lose the South American team.

Manager Pete O’Rourke said: “He seems happy and content with life at Chelsea. Chelsea are happy with Enzo Fernandes, who is playing a bit more of an attacking role under manager Enzo Maresca.”

“He’s really impressed in that role as well. Given his performances for Chelsea with such a long contract, I couldn’t imagine Chelsea trying to sell him unless someone could come up with an offer that was significantly higher than what Chelsea paid for him.”

“Real Madrid seem interested, but it seems difficult to make it happen.”
