  • Will Osura transfer in January?
  • William Osla needs game time

Newcastle United could be open to selling William Osla during the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old striker has been linked with a number of clubs in recent weeks and it will be interesting to see how the situation develops. He needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and leaving Newcastle in January could be ideal for him.

However, with summer signing Yoan Wissa currently sidelined with injury, Newcastle cannot afford to weaken their attacking line. They will need to hold on to Osla for now. If Wissa returns to action quickly, the 22-year-old could be sold.

The striker has attracted attention from European clubs and it will be interesting to see how he ends up. He needs to join a club where he can play regularly and a move to the Bundesliga would be ideal for him. Eintracht Frankfurt are keen to sign him.

Will Osura transfer in January?

Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider: “Newcastle need him (Osla) right now because Yoan Wissa is out injured and he’s a signing from last summer.”

“A lot will depend on Wissa’s fitness and what Newcastle do with Willy Osla if he comes back fit.

“They also have Wissa, Woltemade and Anthony Gordon, who could play an equally impressive role.

“If all three of these players are fit and available around January, maybe Newcastle might consider letting that player (Osla) leave in January.

“But there is no doubt that there is still interest from Eintracht Frankfurt and other clubs will also be keeping an eye on Osula in January.”

The striker is still young enough to develop, but he needs to feature regularly to reach his full potential. It makes no sense for the player to sit on the bench at Newcastle.

They have added plenty of depth to their attacking line and it would make sense for the Premier League side to sign the 22-year-old.
