  • Manchester United hit hard by pursuit of Glasner

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has confirmed that early talks are underway over a new contract with Oliver Glasner, amid speculation over the Austrian manager’s departure.

Glasner has transformed Palace since taking over and has quickly become one of the most talked about managers in the Premier League.

Palace hope to sign him before next season, with rumors of interest from other clubs, but both sides admit it is important to get the right terms.

Due to Ruben Amorim’s poor performance at Manchester United, Glasner has been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Since replacing Roy Hodgson in February 2024, Glasner has overseen a remarkable recovery at Selhurst Park. Under his guidance, Palace won the FA Cup, the first major trophy in the club’s history.

He was also instrumental in the club’s first ever European campaign in the Conference League.

Parish revealed that the club and Glasner have already had “initial discussions” regarding a new contract.

However, he stressed that any agreement must meet Glasner’s conditions. As reported by The Standard, he told talkSPORT:

“We had some conversations early on.

“We want to keep Oliver, we’re building something.

“I think the important thing for Oliver is that the conditions are right…It’s all about how to enjoy your work and finding favorable conditions to achieve.

“Oliver wants to win things. If we can align those interests, then hopefully we can make something happen.”

Palace’s desire to extend Oliver Glasner’s tenure is understandable and he has brought unprecedented success, identity and momentum to the club.

Palace must meet Glasner’s criteria beyond wages. If these interests can be aligned, it may be possible for the manager to continue as a manager amid growing interest from other top clubs.

Glasner’s stock has risen significantly this year and Palace are doing everything they can to secure his future.
