Tottenham’s club legend Son Heung-min moved to MLS in the summer, and one of his former team-mates could also leave during the January transfer window.

Tottenham spent a lot of money on the signings of Mohamed Kudus, Xavi Simons and Matthijs Tell in the summer, but struggled to raise funds through player sales. Son and Brian Gill were the only first-team stars to bring in transfer fees, but Richarlison could join that list in January.

According to Mick Brown (via Football Insider), Tottenham are open to letting Richarlison go once the transfer window reopens, adding that the MLS club is interested in signing Richarlison beyond the 2026 season.

“I think it’s time for Richarlison to move on. He was never a player the club were ready to put full faith in. They know what he can do at his best, but too often he doesn’t reach that level.

“He has had a good start to the season with Solanke out injured, but they don’t see him as a long-term solution to their problems leading the team. So I expect Tottenham to be prepared to let him go if they get a good offer for him in January.”

“Given everyone’s fitness, we don’t know if he will be able to get a regular spot in Thomas Frank’s team. With that in mind, he would also be interested in a move to MLS and I have heard that there are already talks about whether that is possible. If Tottenham receive a suitable offer and feel they can cope without him, I am sure it could happen when the window opens with interest from all parties.”

Crystal Palace have also shown an interest in Richarlison, and given that he plays for Brazil, it is possible that Richarlison would prefer to remain in the Premier League. For now, it remains to be seen whether any clubs will try to sign him in January.
