Wolverhampton Wanderers could make a major attack upgrade in the January transfer window, with reports suggesting manager Vitor Pereira is keen to bring Yuri Alberto to Molineux.

The Brazilian forward, currently at Corinthians, has caught the eye of the Wolves manager who is looking to strengthen his attacking options in a side that has struggled to find goals in the Premier League this season.

The 24-year-old could soon find himself at the center of a revamped Wolves front line, with Pereira’s personal interests driving his pursuit.

Sports Witness reports from South America that Pereira has personally asked Wolves executives to sign Alberto.

The coach believes the Brazil international has what it takes to bring clinical finishing to the attack.

Alberto’s performance in Brazil speaks for itself. In the current season, he has played in 45 games and has recorded 15 goals and 2 assists.

This is not the first time Wolves have shown interest in the forward. The club took a loan approach with an option to buy in 2024, but a deal ultimately fell through.

However, Pereira’s arrival and claims to target Alberto have reignited negotiations, and this time the deal could cross the line.

It’s no secret that Wolves have struggled in front of goal this season. Together with Nottingham Forest, they are one of the lowest scoring teams in the Premier League.

Alberto’s potential arrival would increase competition for Jorgen Strand Larsen and Tolu Alokodare, but neither have yet achieved the level needed to propel the club into the top flight.

With Pereira personally backing the deal, it is clear that the Brazilian striker is a priority signing who could add to Wolves’ attacking capabilities.

If an agreement can be reached with Corinthians, Alberto’s arrival could be a turning point in Wolves’ season and give them the firepower they have been lacking.

The attacker was previously linked with a move to West Ham United.
