BELLAIRE, Fla. — Caitlin Clark isn’t returning to the game on the basketball court, but on the golf course.
Clark, whose second season in the WNBA ended early due to a series of injuries, is scheduled to return to pro-am competition next month at the LPGA Tour’s Annica.
“I had a great time at Annika last November and was able to participate in the pro-am with Nelly Korda and Annika Sorenstam, two of the best in the game,” Clark said.
The Pro-Am will be open to the public on November 12th at Pelican Golf Club. Clark, who just completed his first season in the WNBA and was named Rookie of the Year, drew large crowds and made headlines last year.
Annika is the penultimate tournament on the LPGA schedule. Clark has a corporate relationship with main sponsor Gainbridge Insurance.
Clark’s second WNBA season was delayed by injuries. She appeared in just 13 games and missed the rest of the season with a groin injury on September 4. The Indiana Fever made it to the playoffs again, but were eliminated in the semifinals by the Las Vegas Aces.
