  • Will Carlos Baleva follow Brian Mbeumo to Manchester United?
  • Carlos Baleva’s transfer may have to wait

Manchester United’s new signing Brian Mbeumo is reportedly doing his best to convince fellow Cameroon international Carlos Baleba to join him at Old Trafford.

The Brighton midfielder has had some great performances in the Premier League and it’s no wonder he’s now attracting the attention of big clubs.

According to reports such as TEAMtalk, Baleba has been linked with a move to Man United for a fee that could be worth up to £100m, and Mbeumo has apparently discussed the move with Baleba.

The Red Devils were able to sign a top-class player in their midfield, so fans will be pleased to hear that Mbemo is committed to making a deal happen.

The Sun reports that Mbeumo is like an older brother to Baleba and that he spoke of his joy at United during their time together on international duty.

Will Carlos Baleva follow Brian Mbeumo to Manchester United?

Although United are clearly not the club they used to be, they are still a big name in world football and that helps them continue to attract many top players.

Mbeumo was persuaded to join MUFC from Brentford in the summer and now hopes to persuade Baleba to do the same from Brighton.

Clubs like Brentford and Brighton have made remarkable progress towards becoming competitive teams at the top level, but there is no doubt that an established elite team like United would still struggle to retain their best players if they were to reconvene.

Carlos Baleva’s transfer may have to wait

As reported in yesterday’s Daily Briefing, United will not be able to sign the midfield player they need right away, as Baleva is not due to leave Brighton in January.

This is unfortunate for Ruben Amorim, who clearly needs a player like that right now, and his midfield seems to be a major weakness in this team.

It will be interesting to see if United can find a replacement available in January.
