Okemos, Lansing Catholic team title mix

The Okemos girls golf team enters the final day of the state finals for a spot in the state championship.

The Wolves are in second place after their season opener at Meadows at Grand Valley on Friday, October 17th.

Okemos shot 332 as a team, 10 strokes behind Northville and one stroke behind Rochester Adams and Macomb Dakota.

Freshman Saisha Patil leads the Wolves, shooting a round of 76 for third place individually. She is five strokes behind the leader. Sophomore Anika Srivastava was 12th with a round of 78 for Okemos.

Holt’s Lacheni Ha was also one of the top players, entering the Oct. 18 match in 14th place with a card of 78.

Ferris State University Division 4

Lansing Catholic entered the second day with a team score of 376 and a two-shot lead over the lead. Grand Rapids North Point Christian takes top spot with round of 374;

Bath freshman Adilynn Duflo shot a round of 78 and entered play as the individual leader on Oct. 18. She maintained a one-shot lead and with a score of 393 helped Bath advance to the final round in sixth place in the team standings.

Fowler’s Noel Kreps was fifth individually with 82 points, and Lansing Catholic’s Addie Rhule was eighth with 90 points.

Rhule is one of two golfers from Lansing Catholic to be ranked among the top individuals. Cougars’ Erin O’Connell shot a round of 92 and placed 12th.

Bedford Valley Division 2

Mason is in 10th place after the first round on Oct. 17 and leads Greater Lansing participants with a team score of 377. Owosso is in 13th place and DeWitt is in 18th place going into the final round.

Owosso freshman Samantha Ross had the top individual performance in the opening round. He finished in 10th place with a round of 79.

Mason sophomore Ruby Peaty was 15th on the individual leaderboard with an 84.

Forest Acres West Division 3

Charlotte scored 422 as a team in the season opener at Michigan State on Oct. 17, ranking 15th in the team standings. Junior Peyton Howarth leads the Orioles in 26th place individually after 93 rounds.

Ionia’s Laila Reder and Williamston’s Paige Radebach each finished outside the top 10 with rounds of 85.
