Ningbo, China — Elena Rybakina rallied from a set down to defeat Ekaterina Alexandrova 3-6, 6-0, 6-2 in the Ningbo Open final on Sunday.

Rybakina, the third seed, got off to a slow start, falling behind her Russian opponent with 4 wins and 1 loss in the opening match. She bounced back in the second set, overwhelming her fourth-seeded opponent with a strong service game that included 11 aces.

This was the second title of the year for the Kazakh athlete, who also won in Strasbourg, and the 10th title in her career.

Rybakina’s rapid growth in the final stages of the season means she is in contention to qualify for the season-ending WTA Finals in Riyadh in November.
