Erling Haaland has been back to his best form in recent weeks, but this could be his last season as a Man City player.

Haaland has been on the radar of Real Madrid for many years, but 2026 could be the time for him to move to the Santiago Bernabéu. There have been moves in recent weeks that could lead to a major transfer.

According to Football Insider, Keith Wyness has expressed his belief that he is very likely to leave Man City next summer as Real Madrid prepare to sign Haaland.

“Haaland’s contract runs until 2034, so he has to decide he wants to move and Man City decide they want to cash in on him. There’s been a lot of talk about Vinicius Junior leaving Real Madrid for Saudi Arabia. The rumored £200m for Vinicius Junior could be one of the things that could allow Real Madrid to have the power to make a bid for Haaland.

“Rumor has it that Real Madrid are in talks with his agent, but all they’re doing now is, do we think there’s a chance he’d be interested if we were to make a bid? And despite this long contract, the deal is It’s not beyond the realm of possibility. If Vinicius Jr. leaves, there’s a bit of a domino effect, as I say, that makes it possible. So there’s probably a little more to it than meets the eye.”

“We could see Haaland leaving at the end of this season. He’s obviously scored a lot of goals for City and maybe it’s time to move on. Maybe he wants to go to Real Madrid for four or five years. I still think it’s unlikely, but I think there’s more to this than just a whiff of fantasy. It means something.”

For now, Man City want Haaland to stay for years to come and they will definitely be covered in his contract.
