Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has admitted there are some players at the club who don’t seem to be able to cope with the way the Premier League is going at the moment.

After Liverpool’s shocking 2-1 defeat at home to Manchester United today, a pundit suggested on Sky Sports that the Reds squad may have too many small players.

The game has seen more long balls and set pieces than we’ve seen in a while, and Arne Slott’s side seem to be struggling to cope with that type of style with the players they have.

See below for Carragher’s analysis of smaller players such as Florian Wirtz and Alexis Mac Allister who are not ideal for defending or attacking set-pieces…

Carragher has also suggested that the new full-backs haven’t coped very well either, with Jeremy Frimpong and Milos Kerkes not being the biggest or physical defenders.

Liverpool’s losing streak extends to four games

LFC were the heavy favorites to win the Premier League this season as they won the title quite easily last season, but their form has gone downhill.

At the beginning of the season, we were starting to see some results, but we still conceded a lot of goals, which is now starting to really hurt us.

Liverpool lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace, 1-0 to Galatasaray, 2-1 to Chelsea and today lost 2-1 to United, so it will be difficult for them to get back on track so quickly.

With this result, Slott’s side are already four points behind league leaders Arsenal, but have conceded 11 goals to the Gunners’ three.
