Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing multiple strikers and are interested in signing Ivan Toney.
The 29-year-old has performed very well with Saudi Arabian club Al Ahly and Tottenham are hoping to bring him back to the Premier League. The player’s transfer fee will be around 60 million euros and Tottenham are willing to offer him the same amount.
The Saudi club paid 40 million euros to sign the player, but it remains to be seen whether they are prepared to sanction his departure for profit. He has been outstanding for them, but €60 million is a lot of money for a 29-year-old.
Spurs and Chelsea keen to sign Ivan Toney
According to a report from Viharges, Tottenham are very serious about signing him. But they are not the only Premier League club keen on the player. Chelsea are also interested in bringing Tony back to the Premier League.
However, it would be very surprising if Chelsea decided to sign the player, especially after signing Liam Delap and Joao Pedro earlier in the season. Meanwhile, Tottenham need another quality striker who can share the goalscoring burden with Dominic Solanke.
Tony reunited with Thomas Frank?
Toney played under Thomas Frank at Brentford and could fit in quickly and make an immediate impact at Tottenham. The chance to reunite with the striker would be very exciting for the Danish manager. His presence at the London club could help Tottenham persuade the striker to join.
It remains to be seen how the situation will develop. Tottenham have started the season well, but they need a reliable goalscorer if they are to win trophies.
Toney has excelled in Saudi Arabia and has proven himself in the Premier League in the past. He could make a decisive impact in the final third. Tony scored 30 goals last season.
