Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta continues to do a great job with the Gunners, currently leading the club to two amazing new records.
With a 4-0 win over Atletico Madrid last night, Arsenal proved once again that they are the real deal under Arteta, and their big win is certainly not far away.
Arsenal were absolutely brilliant when they beat Diego Simeone’s side at the Emirates Stadium and these two new records show just how impressive Arteta’s side have been.
See below for statistics from journalist Sam Dean. According to him, Arsenal’s winning streak against Spanish teams in the Champions League is longer than any club to date…
On top of that, this is Arsenal’s best defensive record at the start of the season…
Arsenal look invincible at the moment – can they finally get their hands on the trophy?
The only thing missing from the Arteta era so far is a big trophy, but the Spanish tactician is yet to lift a silver medal since beating Chelsea in the FA Cup final in 2020.
The AFC have improved a lot since then, but it is perhaps only now that Arteta looks like he has world-class players in every position and enough depth to deal with the injury absence of key players.
It’s worth noting that last night’s win meant that big names such as Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus were absent through injury, while Arteta was able to keep players such as Riccardo Calafioli, Ben White, Mikel Merino, Ethan Nwaneri and Cristian Mosquera on the bench.
They have a long way to go this season, but Arsenal haven’t conceded any goals and if Victor Gokeres starts getting scoring chances, it will be very difficult for anyone to beat them.
