  • Ezri Konsa interested by multiple Premier League clubs
  • Manchester City in race to sign Villa star

Ezri Konsa’s stock continues to rise, with big clubs in the Premier League taking notice.

According to TBR Football, Manchester City and Tottenham are among several clubs keeping an eye on the Aston Villa defender, who has excelled under Unai Emery.

City, who beat Villa to sign highly-rated midfielder Sverre Nippan earlier this year, are now considering another raid on Emery’s side as part of an expected restructuring of their defence.

Meanwhile, Spurs are looking to strengthen their backline ahead of 2026 and are considering options at centre-back.

That’s not the only reason for the high level of interest. Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have all scouted Konsa over the past year, showing how widely admired he is.

Positionally smart and incredibly quick across the ground, Konsa has consistently shown his quality at Villa.

This combination has made him a key part of Emery’s defensive structure, whether Villa installs him in a compact mid-block or closes out opponents high up the pitch.

Guardiola likes Man City to have versatile defenders and Konsa fits that profile. He can play as a centre-back, not only in a back three but also in a back four.

Targeting the Premier League-trained home-grown option makes perfect sense as City refresh a back unit that has seen plenty of playing time over multiple seasons as they chase trophies.

Chelsea maintain a habit of stockpiling top domestic talent, Liverpool are keeping a close eye on defenders as Ibrahima Konate’s future remains uncertain, and Man United are valuing a reliable Premier League profile as they rebuild their squad.

Konsa is currently a player in high demand and top clubs in the Premier League, including Man City, are willing to offer him the opportunity to take a step forward in his career.

It remains to be seen who will win the race to sign him. Concerts probably don’t think about things like that right now. He is now focused on performing well and securing a place in England’s squad for next year’s World Cup.
