  • Chelsea battle for top spot in Guerra Due
  • Doe could be successful in England

Chelsea hope to sign Guerra Due during the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old has been doing very well for Strasbourg in France and Chelsea are interested in signing him.

According to Football Insider, Chelsea are the frontrunners for a deal due to their relationship with the French club. Both clubs are BlueCo owners and it will be interesting to see if Chelsea can negotiate a reasonable contract for the defender.

Chelsea have recently sent scouts to keep an eye on Doue.

Pete O’Rourke said: “It’s clear that Chelsea are probably the frontrunner given their relationship with Strasbourg and both clubs are owned by Blue.”

“You’re probably looking at between £20m and £25m for Doue in his current form. He’s under contract with the French club until 2029, so they’re not under a lot of pressure to sell him right now.”

They are looking to add more quality and depth to their full-back area and Doue would be a solid long-term investment. He has proven his quality in France and has the ability to excel in England as well. The opportunity to move to the Premier League would be very exciting for him. It would be a big step up in his career.

Playing regular football in England will help him develop further and reach his potential. Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world and have historically been successful in developing young players. They can play an important role in his development.

The 23-year-old is excited to take on a new challenge at this stage of his career and hopes the two clubs can reach an agreement. Reports suggest the deal could be completed for a fee of around £20m to £25m. Chelsea certainly have the financial wherewithal to pay the asking price, and if the defender fulfills his potential at Chelsea, this deal could look like a bargain.
