Barcelona are stepping up efforts to secure a permanent move for Marcus Rashford to Camp Nou, with club officials naming the player one of Hansi Flick’s top priorities for 2026.

The Manchester United forward, currently in Spain, has impressed on and off the pitch, quickly gaining the trust of the coaching staff and seamlessly integrating into Barcelona’s dressing room culture.

Sources close to the agency say Barcelona see Rashford as a long-term solution to their attacking needs on the left flank. catch off side.

The 28-year-old has made 14 appearances for the Spanish giants this season, scoring six goals and providing seven assists.

The La Liga club have been impressed with Rashford’s versatility and goal-scoring quality, drawing praise from club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Hansi Flick, who is believed to have personally supported Deco’s move.

However, the big hurdle remains Rashford’s salary. After signing a lucrative new contract with Man United in the summer of 2023, the Englishman’s wages now significantly exceed Barcelona’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) limits.

The Catalan giants have signed a long-term contract that comes with a reduced base salary but includes performance-based bonuses and image rights incentives.

If Rashford agrees to this financial compromise, a deal could be completed as early as the January transfer window.

However, Barcelona faces stiff competition. Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Inter Milan, Chelsea and Arsenal are all monitoring Rashford’s situation closely.

Chelsea and Arsenal are considering a possible move for the player should he wish to remain in the Premier League.

Still, Barcelona’s confidence is growing. Rashford’s strong relationship with Flick and his enthusiasm for Spanish football made the Catalan club his preferred destination.

He feels valued and motivated again. Rashford wants to stay if Barcelona can make the numbers work.
