  • Everton have no intention of selling Man United target
  • Jarrad Branthwaite impresses at top club

Everton have revealed that Jarrad Branthwaite has no intention of leaving Goodison Park in the upcoming January transfer window, despite growing interest from Manchester United, according to TEAMtalk.

The Toffees view their star defender as a key part of a long-term project under manager David Moyes and are determined to keep him around for the remainder of the season.

The 23-year-old centre-back has attracted the attention of Manchester United, with the club naming him as a priority target in an effort to strengthen their defence.

United’s scouting department, led by Ruben Amorim, is said to be highly rated for Branthwaite’s mature talent and potential.

However, Everton’s stance remains unchanged. According to club sources, Branthwaite is considered “untouchable” this winter as the Merseyside club battles to maintain consistency in the Premier League.

Everton believe selling him midway through the season would weaken the squad at a crucial stage, especially as time is limited to find a suitable replacement.

If Branthwaite ultimately leaves, Everton will likely command a premium price.

The defender is said to be worth around £70m, a figure that reflects both his importance to the team and his potential to become one of England’s top defenders.

The assessment has already caused some clubs to hesitate, but United are expected to reconsider the situation in the summer.

United’s interest comes amid growing uncertainty surrounding their defensive options.

Due to Harry Maguire’s age and the unreliability of other defensive options, United are looking to sign a new centre-back who is young and capable of performing at the top level for an extended period of time.

Branthwaite has been compared to John Stones for his technical quality and calm under pressure and is seen as an ideal candidate.

Branthwaite’s development over the past two years has been remarkable. After a successful loan spell at PSV Eindhoven, the Englishman, who received praise from Dutch legend Ruud van Nistelrooy, returned to Everton and quickly established himself as a first-team regular.

Everton’s message is clear: Branthwaite is not for sale. However, with his reputation continuing to rise and interest from Man United remaining strong, competition for his signature is likely to intensify next summer’s transfer window.
