Manchester United are reportedly scouting RB Salzburg’s prodigy Kerim Alaibegovic.

According to a report in Sport Bild (h/t SportWitness), they are scouting the 18-year-old and could make a move for him in the future. Alaibegovic has also been linked with a move to Chelsea.

The winger has performed very well in the Austrian league and top clubs are monitoring his progress. Manchester United have scouted him extensively and it will be interesting to see if they decide to make a move.

Meanwhile, they will face competition from German club Bayer Leverkusen. They are determined to win the race for his signature.

Alaybegovic joined Austrian club RB Salzburg from Leverkusen’s youth organization last summer, with the German club having a buy-back option. There is no doubt that they will be the favorites to seal the deal.

The 18-year-old has the tools to develop into a quality player in the future and it will be interesting to see if Manchester United are able to sign him. They are looking to build a team for the future and signing one of the best young players in European football would be ideal.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international plays as a winger and will add unpredictability to Manchester United’s attack.

The opportunity to join one of the world’s biggest clubs could be appealing to him. But for now he needs to focus on his development. He should aim to join a club that offers him regular opportunities.

Sitting on the bench at a club like Manchester United won’t do him any favors. He is unlikely to get his chance ahead of Brian Mbeumo or Matthias Cunia. Perhaps a return to Leverkusen would be ideal for him. If he continues to develop and fulfill his potential, there will be plenty of opportunities for him to join elite clubs in the future.

Manchester United have a track record of developing young players. There is no doubt that they will also help the 18-year-old player develop. However, this move may not be ideal for players at the moment.
