  • Benjamin Sesco is struggling at Manchester United
  • Sesko needs more time to develop

Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesco has been criticized by former Premier League attacker Troy Deeney.

Sesco joined the Red Devils in a big-money deal from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window.

However, his time in England was difficult, with the attacker unable to establish himself in the league and finding it difficult to regain his scoring touch.

The tall striker has scored just two goals in the Premier League so far this season, and is not good enough to lead Man United’s attack.

The Slovenian attacker has been heavily criticized, with some in the media questioning why the Red Devils decided to invest so heavily in Sesko, who is still young and developing.

Deanie, in her latest form, joins the conversation and discusses the problems Sesco is currently facing.

The former Watford attacker told The Football Exchange:

“I think he had a second chance and he was like a deer in headlights.

“He seems to be thinking about all these weird things right now, because it was only a few games ago that he had back-to-backs, so it seems really weird that he’s overthinking it now.”

Deeney talks about the chance Sesco had against Tottenham. The striker missed both chances, ultimately costing United two points.

The game ended 2-2 with United conceding first and then scoring late on, but if Sesco had scored from the chance he had, United could have easily walked away with the all-important three points.

The striker is yet to hit his stride and is still learning to come to terms with the pace and physicality of the English game.

Because Sesko is a work in progress rather than a finished article, the current sample size is too small to fully judge.

Amorim and his coaching team need to find a way to get the best out of their attackers.
