Leicester City defender Wout Faeth is rumored to be set to leave the club when the transfer window reopens.

The 27-year-old Belgian defender has not been at his best this season and has been criticized for his performances both at club and international level. According to Leicester Mercury, the defender is in contention for a place in the Belgium national team and a move from the Foxes could be ideal for him.

Wout phase was a struggle.

The player has repeatedly made starting appearances for English clubs. He has not been called up for the past three international breaks. The defender will be keen to move to a top club in order to regain his place in the Belgian national team. On the other hand, he is also not an essential asset to the Championship squad. It would be reasonable to think that Leicester City could allow him to leave if a suitable offer is on the table. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop. Both players could aim to move in January.

There is no doubt that he is a quality player and is at the peak of his career. The right actions might bring out the best in him again.

With the World Cup coming up, he will be desperate to earn playing time and increase his chances of playing in the World Cup. He needs to choose his next destination carefully. He should aim to join a club where he can compete at a high level as a regular starter.

Staying at a winning club would be a huge blow to his World Cup hopes. Where he ends up remains to be seen.
