Tottenham Hotspur have been constantly linked with a possible transfer for Japanese national team attacker Takefusa Kubo.

The 24-year-old has enjoyed a successful spell with Real Sociedad in La Liga and has the technical ability to excel in the Premier League. Tottenham could use a more advanced player in the final third and it remains to be seen whether they decide to sign the Japan international.

According to Pete O’Rourke, the cost of signing the player is likely to be around £52m. It’s not a cheap signing, but it remains to be seen whether Tottenham are prepared to pay the price. Kubo is also rumored to be moving to Arsenal.

He said: “He has been constantly linked with a Premier League move to Tottenham, Liverpool and Aston Villa over the years.

“He is a top young player who has achieved great results at Real Sociedad, so it is no wonder that Europe’s top clubs are paying attention to the Japan international.

“There is a release clause in his contract so it would be easy for Tottenham to want to sign him in January.

“At £52 million, it’s not a cheap deal by any stretch of the imagination. So if Tottenham increase their interest in Kubo, that will be considered.”

The Japanese national team is a versatile player who can play both in the center and on the wings. He could be a valuable asset to Tottenham if they can get a deal done. His ability to play multiple roles will be a bonus.

Additionally, contracting with Nippon International is commercially useful. They have benefited greatly from Son Heung-min’s presence over the years. Adding Kubo to the squad will fill that void and allow Tottenham to maximize revenue from the Asian market.

It is likely to be difficult to convince the player to join the club. Whether they are prepared to pay remains to be seen.
