Fulham are now planning to sign Brendan Rodgers amid a new update on Marco Silva’s future at Craven Cottage.
Silva has had a difficult time in the Premier League, with a 2-0 defeat at Everton before the international break leaving his team in 15th place, just one point above the relegation zone.
There had been speculation about the 48-year-old’s future as his contract expires in the summer, but club bosses appear keen to keep him, having recently offered him a new contract.
However, there may be more twists and turns in this story as the former Everton manager has yet to come to a concrete conclusion, and it has been revealed that he plans to approach the former Premier League manager who recently resigned from his previous job.
Fulham set to approach signing Brendan Rodgers amid uncertainty over Marco Silva
Football Insider reports that Silva’s future in west London remains in big doubt, with Fulham now set to approach Rodgers with a move to Craven Cottage, with the Northern Irishman still out of work after leaving Celtic last month.
The Cottage are said to be negotiating with the 52-year-old, who has extensive experience in the top flight having previously managed Swansea City, Leicester City and Liverpool.
Having offered Silva a new contract, there is still a chance he will remain in west London, but after a quiet summer in which Kevin was the only major addition, the manager is keen to help in the transfer market and there are some issues to iron out.
It would be a shame to see the Portuguese manager leave, given the excellent job he has done in stabilizing Fulham as a top club at Craven Cottage after leading them to promotion from the Championship.

However, if Silva decides to leave, Rodgers could be a great replacement, having been hailed as an “incredible” manager by Jamie O’Hara for his work at Leicester.
The former Foxes manager was also hugely successful at Celtic, winning the FA Cup and Community Shield during his time at the King Power Stadium, two of his 13 trophies as manager.
However, while the Cottage’s current league position is alarming, their current manager has proven time and time again that he is capable of keeping the team in the top flight, so replacing him would be a risk.
