Real Madrid defender Eder Militao has sustained an injury to his right foot while representing Brazil, as confirmed by the club on Wednesday.

Medical examinations showed that Militao has strained his abductor muscle during Brazil’s friendly match against Tunisia on Tuesday.

While the club has not provided an estimated recovery timeline, insiders informed ESPN that he is not expected to participate in this Sunday’s match against Elche.

Militao had to be substituted in the second half while Brazil was level at 1-1.
