Unlike last year, the race for the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft is shaping up to be quite competitive. As of November 10th, DraftKings Sportsbook lists the odds for the top pick with Darin Peterson at +120 (meaning a $10 bet would pay $22), AJ Divanza at +190 (a $10 bet wins $29), and Cameron Boozer at +240 (a $10 bet wins $34).

Opinions vary on who is the best newcomer this college season—Peterson, Divanza, or Boozer—and the betting odds mirror that debate, showcasing a tight three-way battle for the top draft spot. Peterson, a 6-foot-6 point guard from Kansas, is currently performing at a high level with averages of 21.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal per game, shooting 60% from the field and 50% from beyond the arc. BYU’s AJ Divanza, a versatile 6-foot-8 forward, has contributed 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists over two wins, shooting 57% from the floor. Meanwhile, Duke’s Cameron Boozer, posting 20 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists, has helped the Blue Devils to a 2-0 start.

With such talented prospects, NBA teams have a challenging decision ahead when selecting their No. 1 pick next summer.

Fan Take: This heated contest for the No. 1 draft pick highlights the incredible talent emerging in college basketball, making the draft even more exciting to watch. For fans, it promises a fresh wave of standout players who could shape the future of the NBA and elevate the game to new heights.
