NASCAR Showdown: Which Drivers Will Rival Denny Hamlin and Chase Brisco for the Championship?

The playoff situation at Martinsville appears straightforward. Denny Hamlin and Chase Briscoe have already secured their spots by winning recent races—Hamlin at Las Vegas and Briscoe at Talladega. This leaves just two remaining positions open, likely to be filled by Christopher Bell and Kyle Larson, unless one of the other contenders—Ryan Blaney, Chase Elliott, William Byron, or Joey Logano—claims a victory. Bell and Larson currently hold a significant points advantage over the others, with Bell leading Byron by 37 points and Larson by 36. Since a driver can earn up to 60 points per race (20 of which come from the first two stages), Byron and Logano will need Bell or Larson to falter early to secure a spot in the final round.

If a driver beyond Bell and Larson wins and moves on, Blaney has a strong chance to benefit, especially given his past success at Martinsville, having won the last two fall races there, including the 2023 race where he secured the championship. At BetMGM, Blaney is listed at +350 odds to win the Martinsville race, followed by Hamlin at +425. Hamlin is the track’s most successful driver, while Elliott, who last won at Martinsville in 2020, stands at +650; however, he cannot advance to the final round based on points.

Despite not having secured his spot in the final round yet, Bell is favored to win the championship at BetMGM, holding a +250 edge. His chances improve if Blaney wins and Larson finishes just two points ahead of Bell. Hamlin remains the second favorite for the title, ahead of Larson and Briscoe.
