Blackhawks vs. Avalanche Game 22: Predicted Lineup, Viewing Info, and More

The Blackhawks have encountered challenges this season, but for the first time, they feel optimistic about their potential in the 2025-26 season. Earlier this week, they lost a series after squandering a 2-0 lead against the Seattle Kraken and then suffering a heavy 9-3 defeat to the Buffalo Sabers.

Now, they face a daunting task against the dominant Colorado Avalanche, who boast an impressive 15-1-5 record and lead the NHL with an .833 scoring percentage. To stay on track for a successful season, the Blackhawks need a major upset win at the United Center against the league’s top team.

The Avalanche are known for their deep roster and strong goaltending, featuring stars like Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar, both among the NHL’s elite players. Although they didn’t have their best performance against the Nashville Predators recently, goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood’s 35-save shutout highlighted their ability to win in various ways. Scott Wedgewood, also having an outstanding season, is expected to start against Chicago.

For the Blackhawks, Andre Burakovsky remains out due to a concussion, but Jason Dickinson returns after missing 10 games. Dickinson has been practicing with Ilya Mikheyev and Ryan Donato, likely forming a line that will face heavy competition. Coach Jeff Blashill plans to continue his 11/7 player rotation, with Sam Lafferty or Landon Slaggert likely sidelined. Spencer Knight will start as goalie, with Arvid Soderblom reserved for future matchups.

Fans in the Chicagoland area can watch the game on CHSN or listen on WGN Radio AM 720, while nationally it will be available on NHL Network. Pucks drop just after 6 pm PT.
