Just days ago, a thrilling World Series game suggested the Los Angeles Dodgers might clinch their third championship this decade. Depending on your perspective, the Dodgers are either remembered for a massive collapse on the sport’s grandest stage, or the Toronto Blue Jays are just 27 outs away from making history with one of the greatest comebacks ever.

Heading into Friday’s Game 6 of the 2025 World Series, Toronto holds a 3-2 series lead, with the game set to take place at the Rogers Center and first pitch at 8 PM ET. On Monday, Dodgers’ star Freddie Freeman ended a marathon 18-inning game with a walk-off homer, leading to a 6-5 victory and boosting the Dodgers’ championship odds from -225 to -500. Meanwhile, the Blue Jays’ chances dropped from +400 to -230, with the Dodgers now at +190 to win it all.

The Dodgers enter Game 6 as favorites, largely due to starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s strong showing in Game 2, where he pitched a complete game with just 4 hits and 1 run allowed, securing a 5-1 win. He will go up against Kevin Guzman, who has a 2-2 record with a 2.55 ERA in the playoffs. Current sportsbook odds list the Dodgers as -140 favorites and the Blue Jays at +120, with the over/under set at 7.5 total runs.

Aside from the World Series, previews for NBA and NHL games on Friday, October 31st, are also offered. For MLB fans, Game 6 between the Dodgers and Blue Jays airs at 8 PM on Fox and streams on Fubo’s free trial. SportsLine’s model slightly favors the underdog Blue Jays and suggests betting on over 7.5 runs, predicting a close finish averaging 4.5 to 4.4 runs in Toronto’s favor with a 61% chance of surpassing the run total. Expert Bruce Marshall backs the Blue Jays, believing Toronto’s offense, which has scored six runs in each of the last two games, will continue to outpace the Dodgers, who have struggled offensively lately.

In NBA action, the Nuggets face the Trail Blazers at 10 PM, with the model predicting a high-scoring game exceeding 238.5 points and favoring the underdog Blazers. For the NHL, the Red Wings visit the Ducks, with the model forecasting fewer than 6.5 goals scored, favoring Anaheim’s strong defense in their 3-1 series lead.

Fan Take: This intense World Series scenario underscores the unpredictable excitement sports can offer, much like hockey’s thrilling playoff battles. Hockey fans should take note—comebacks and tight series like this fuel the passion and drama that make sports truly captivating, setting the stage for memorable moments in any sport.
