On Wednesday night, the New York Knicks delivered a powerful offensive performance, overpowering the Charlotte Hornets 129-101.

Right from the start, both teams played aggressively and shot impressively. Josh Hart shone brightly in his second start of the season, scoring 11 points on perfect shooting (4-for-4) in just eight minutes, contributing a steal and an assist during the exciting first quarter. Every Knicks starter scored at least twice, with Jalen Brunson (9 points), Karl-Anthony Towns (6), Mikal Bridges (6), and Miles McBride (5) combining with Hart to tally 37 points and shoot 75% from the field in the first quarter.

Mitchell Robinson led the rebounds with three in only four minutes off the bench, while Jordan Clarkson and Gershon Yabusele also saw playing time. The Hornets kept pace initially, led by Colin Sexton’s 7 points off the bench, and five points each from LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges, with the Knicks leading 37-31 after the opening period.

The scoring cooled in the second quarter as both teams struggled, but New York kept building their lead. Brunson extended the margin to 15 points with an and-one play, as Charlotte faltered offensively. The Knicks exploded late in the half with a 15-2 run, including deep three-pointers from Brunson and Hart, with Hart hitting a three-pointer in the final seconds to end the half up 72-47. Hart was a standout scorer in the first half, finishing with 19 points on efficient shooting, including three triples.

From there, New York maintained control, with Brunson shouldering much of the offensive load in the third quarter, scoring 16 points despite a less efficient shooting night. He ended the game with a team-high 33 points. Hart delivered an all-around effort with 22 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and three steals. Towns recorded a double-double, Bridges had 18 points, and McBride contributed 19.

The Knicks showcased one of their best offensive performances to date, shooting 57% overall, 52% from three-point range, and 89% from the free-throw line on the road. This victory marked their third road win of the season, improving their away record to 3-5. They currently stand 2-1 in the NBA Cup group stage.

Game MVP: Josh Hart, whose first-half dominance helped build the sizable halftime lead.

Next up, the Knicks head home after a five-game road trip to face the Milwaukee Bucks in the final NBA Cup group stage game on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Fan Take: This dominant win highlights the Knicks’ growing offensive chemistry and depth, signaling their potential to be a serious contender this season. Basketball fans should watch closely, as performances like Hart’s could redefine the team’s identity and bring exciting, high-energy basketball to the forefront.
