According to TEAMtalk, Leeds United are considering a change in manager as pressure mounts on manager Daniel Farke, with Brendan Rodgers emerging as the club’s top target.

Los Blancos’ board are reportedly considering a quick move for the former Celtic and Leicester City manager as they aim to stabilize the season after a strong run in the Premier League.

Leeds lost 2-1 at home to Aston Villa at Elland Road last weekend, marking their sixth defeat in seven games and dropping into the relegation zone for the first time this season.

There was optimism during last year’s promotion campaign, but the club’s return to top-flight football has quickly turned into a fight for survival, and Falke’s patience with his leadership is wearing thin.

Falke led Leeds to glory in the Championship last season and was widely praised for his tactical structure and talent management. However, the step up to the Premier League exposed the team’s lack of depth and experience.

Leeds have struggled to adapt to the high tempo, physicality and tactical demands due to their poor defense and inconsistency in attack.

Club bosses believe a change in management could provide a much-needed boost before the January transfer window.

Rodgers, who resigned from his role at Celtic earlier this month, is already being discussed internally as a viable candidate.

Rodgers, 52, left Celtic after winning two Scottish Premiership titles in his second spell at Parkhead, but left amid controversy following a falling out with majority shareholder Dermot Desmond.

Despite his tumultuous departure, Rodgers’ managerial qualities remain impressive.

His success with Leicester City, who won the FA Cup in 2021, and Liverpool, where he led the Reds to a near title win in 2013-14, has established him as one of the most experienced tacticians on the market.

Rodgers is open to a return to the Premier League and is interested in the Elland Road project if the club can provide financial support and a clear long-term plan.

Meanwhile, Leeds see Rodgers as the ideal candidate to bring top-level experience, tactical discipline and renewed belief to a team currently lacking confidence.
