Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal team continued their excellent form this season after defeating Bayern Munich 3-1 in the Champions League.

Goals from Julian Timber, Noni Maduke and Gabriel Martinelli led the Gunners to one of their biggest wins of the season against a side who have enjoyed scoring goals all season.

It was Bayern Munich’s first loss of the season, and their opponent was Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Despite the Gunners’ overwhelming dominance and memorable victory over the German champions, Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich feels Arsenal are not the best team they have played this season.

The German midfielder surprisingly described Paris Saint-Germain as a much better team than Arsenal, considering they lost to Bayern.

Asked if the Premier League leaders were the best team they have faced this season, Kimmich told TNT Sport Brasil, as reported by Metro newspaper:

“No, I don’t think so.

“I think PSG had the toughest way of playing football.

“Arsenal are completely different, they rely on set pieces, they love to play long balls, they love to compete for second balls, it was a completely different game.

“The game against PSG is more of a football match. Today it was not about football, it was about match management, it was about duels.

“We deserved the win, but we have to learn from this game.”

Kimmich’s comments were surprising considering it was Bayern’s first defeat of the season, after winning 17 of the 18 games they played this season.

Arsenal showed their dominance at the Emirates Stadium, outscoring Bayern Munich in all departments.

Before the big clash in the Champions League, the game was said to be a match between the best teams in Europe, considering their form and position.

However, Kimmich still feels that PSG are better than Arsenal at the moment.
