As first reported by the Daily Briefing, Manchester United have made contact with the agent of Real Madrid’s doubtful Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior.
If Vinicius ends up leaving the Bernabéu, the Red Devils are likely to target Manchester City alongside Manchester City, but that is not yet certain.
Industry sources claim that Real are keen to keep Vinicius and that Vinicius and club president Florentino Perez have a very good relationship.
However, there have been issues between Vinicius and manager Xabi Alonso, with several senior players not liking Vinicius since his arrival in the summer.
Could Manchester United lure Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid?
Vinicius’ contract at Madrid runs until 2027, which could open the door to the likes of United if efforts to persuade Vinicius to sign a new deal fail.
MUFC have already established an interest with the player’s representatives, but it is still too early to be sure if a deal is realistically viable.
However, Vinicius would undoubtedly be a very exciting signing for United and other big clubs, and the 25-year-old is certainly likely to have suitors from the Premier League and elsewhere in Europe.
| Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid | game | the goal |
| 2021/22 | 52 | twenty two |
| 2022/23 | 55 | twenty three |
| 2023/24 | 39 | twenty four |
| 2024/25 | 58 | twenty two |
| 2025/26 | 17 | 5 |
Vinicius could need big money to stay at Real Madrid
It is also worth noting that while some sources have suggested that Vinicius would want a significant pay rise to remain at Los Blancos, others have played down that, insisting that his relationship with the manager and role within the team are the main issues.
Real will no doubt be looking to keep hold of this important player as he still appears to be one of the most important members of the team and if he were to leave it would only strengthen their European rivals significantly.
