Samuel Luckhurst criticized the Manchester United star for looking “ghosted” in the first half of the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Manchester United make a complete comeback in the second half to beat Palace

Manchester United’s performance in the first half of their win over the Eagles left a lot to be desired, and manager Mark Goldbridge used X to criticize Ruben Amorim, but also took aim at the manager’s reluctance to change things at half-time.

But Amorim’s approach ultimately paid off, with Joshua Zirkzee canceling out Jean-Philippe Mateta’s opener early in the second half and Mason Mount securing all three points after being sent off for Bruno Fernandes’ free-kick.

The Red Devils won 2-1, ending their four-game winless streak against Palace, but it was far from a vintage performance, with manager Luckhurst appearing on X to criticize Casemiro’s performance in the first half.

The reporter said: “He hasn’t been doing well at all and Casemiro seems to be struggling with another matchup with Adam Wharton.”

Despite losing possession 11 times, the Brazilian made many important contributions defensively throughout the game, winning seven duels, the second most of any United player, and also making two interceptions, three clearances and three tackles.
