ST. LOUIS — Jimmy Snuggerud is anticipated to miss at least six weeks due to a left wrist injury that will require surgery. Additionally, St. Louis Blues forward Alexei Trobchenko will be sidelined for an extended period after suffering burns on his foot in a home accident.

General manager Doug Armstrong confirmed that Snuggerud has been placed on injured reserve and will be reevaluated after six weeks, while Trobchenko is currently listed as week-to-week. Further details were not provided.

Meanwhile, Aleksanteri Kaskimaki has been called up from the Springfield team of the American Hockey League and may make his NHL debut soon, potentially in the upcoming home game against Anaheim.

Snuggerud has accumulated 11 points in 26 games, ranking tied for 10th among NHL rookies. Trobchenko was recently ejected from the Blues’ last game for a knee-to-knee hit on Utah’s Logan Cooley.

Fan Take: This news is significant for hockey fans as it impacts the Blues’ lineup and could influence team dynamics during crucial games. The introduction of Kaskimaki brings fresh energy and an exciting prospect to watch, signaling potential growth for the team and the sport overall.
