Brotha Kenny turned his recent victory into a record-setting sale during Wednesday’s Inglis Digital USA December Sale, fetching an unprecedented $550,000—the highest price ever achieved on the online auction platform—boosting the overall sales record. The 3-year-old Motown gelding was purchased by Mee/Lloyd Bloodstock for Mike and Jules Ivarone, TTC Stables, and Moplay Racing.

Having just won the Listed Zeer Park Derby eight days before, Brotha Kenny staged a strong finish to narrowly defeat trainer William Morley and owners Lance and Steve Kinross by half a length. Meer praised Inglis Digital USA for securing such a rare gem, highlighting the horse’s consistent performance since returning to dirt tracks, with numbers pointing to continued improvement.

The horse made a name for himself over the summer by winning the Bourbon Flight Stakes at Churchill Downs on September 20 and placing in the G3 Indiana Derby and G3 West Virginia Derby. He ended the season with four wins in 13 starts and earnings totaling $499,528. Mair shared optimism about Brotha Kenny’s future, noting his impressive recent races and dominant performance in the Zia Park Derby. The young gelding, now under trainer Jose D’Angelo, has a promising career ahead.

Bred in Kentucky by Terrazas Thoroughbreds, Brotha Kenny is out of the Northern Afleet mare Raramura Princess, who has produced nine winners, including stakes winner Concealed Carry. His bloodline also features Grade 3 winner Eastern Sand. Paramount Sales acted as his agent, with the horse available for buyers to inspect at Morley’s barn at Turfway Park.

Paddy Campion of Paramount Sales reflected on how plans aligned perfectly for Brotha Kenny’s sale, noting his discussions with Mr. Kinross before the Zeer Park Derby and praising Inglis’ smooth handling of the process. Appreciation was also extended to trainer Bill Morley and buyer David Mee. Best wishes were sent to all associated owners and stables.

The highest-priced broodmare of the day was Sea Rocket, sold for $65,000 to Tropical Racing. This 4-year-old Into Mischief daughter is a half-sister to G2 winner Royal Spa and descends from a lineage including G1 winner Sippican Harbor and Japanese stakes winner Awesome Results. She was offered with the opportunity to be bred to Belmont Stakes winner Dornoch. Provided by Noleveil Farms, Sea Rocket was available for testing in Lexington, Kentucky.

The December sale concluded with 48 horses sold for a record-breaking total of $869,250. The catalog featured local horses from multiple states, catering to buyers and sellers across the nation. The event drew a diverse buyer pool, with 40 participants on Wednesday alone.

Kyle Wilson, CEO of Inglis Digital USA, celebrated the record sales as a successful year-end milestone, thanking customers for their support throughout 2025. While pre-orders for products ended on sale day, horses remain available for purchase on the Inglis Digital USA website, with options to make offers on available horses.

Entries for the 2026 February Sale are now open until January 26th, with the catalog releasing January 30th and bidding closing February 4th. For more details or to participate, visit www.inglisdigitalusa.com.

Fan Take: This standout sale highlights the growing prominence of digital platforms in horse racing, showcasing how technology is reshaping the industry. Brotha Kenny’s record-breaking auction not only excites fans but also signals a new era of accessibility and opportunity for owners and buyers alike, potentially driving fresh enthusiasm and investment into the sport.
