Manchester United are currently in a battle with Tottenham Hotspur to sign the young winger, who has been compared to Neymar, according to recent reports.
Amorim admits Manchester United are ‘really inconsistent’
No one inside Old Trafford was more frustrated than Ruben Amorim in midweek. His Man United side have won just once in their last five games, but have lost once in that time, failing to capitalize on their chances once again in a 1-1 draw against struggling West Ham United.
Amorim complained to reporters after the match: “No, we’re not going backwards. The results kept going backwards. We had some moments.
“Again, when you have a result like that with one team that you were talking about, when that team was really perfect and I was saying, ‘We’re far from a perfect moment,’ that can happen.
“We’re really inconsistent. But if you look at the goal, in the 83rd minute we had a long ball. We’re controlling everything. We have to get better.”
The big question is whether Manchester United will “do better” this weekend. They will face Wolverhampton Wanderers in a game where only three points can be conceded.
‘Pretty bad’ – Samuel Luckhurst slams Manchester United star’s match against West Ham
Manchester United dropped another point against West Ham.
The Midlands club are yet to win this season and sit bottom of the Premier League with just two points. Amorim cannot hand them their first victory.
As it stands, the former Sporting CP manager remains backed by INEOS and is reportedly in the race to sign manager Nilsson Angulo’s new attacking reinforcements.
Man United vie to sign Nilsson
According to TeamTalk, Man United are in a battle with Tottenham to sign Nilsson Angulo after completing a scouting mission. The Anderlecht star has also attracted interest from Leeds United, Brentford and Brighton & Hove Albion across the Premier League.
With four goals and eight assists in all competitions this season, the 22-year-old is one of the best young wingers in Europe and it’s no wonder he’s attracting interest from United.
Described as “dynamic” by Under-23 scout Antonio Mango in 2024, Angulo has continued to improve since then and is sure to make his mark on Amorim’s United side.
It has been reported that some are even comparing the Ecuadorian winger to Neymar as the biggest compliment a South American star receives these days. If Angulo is anywhere near as talented as the former Barcelona star, then United should do everything in their power to sign him.
