Drew Earns the Right to Aspire with a Genuine Final Offer

Owner Brian Drew is already enjoying a dream season, but he believes even greater success might be on the horizon as Final Demand continues to impress. Based in the Midlands, Drew recently celebrated a significant achievement when Dan Skelton’s Panic Attack became the first horse since 2004 to win both the Paddy Power Gold Cup and Coral Gold Cup double at Newbury.

All attention now turns to Limerick over Christmas following Final Demand’s strong chasing debut at Navan. Drew described Final Demand as “the real deal,” praising his performance and expressing optimism for the upcoming Four Wins Novice Chase in Limerick. For Drew, a smaller-scale owner, discovering a horse like Final Demand is extraordinary, and he credits careful research and connections, including Joey Logan who alerted him to the horse after a point-to-point win at Ringstown.

Drew’s partner in this venture, Professor Caroline Tisdall—known for her success with horses like An Tan Pour Tout and Moon Racer at Cheltenham—has recently joined as a co-owner. Drew shared how he offered her a share to bring fresh enthusiasm, and they are excited by Final Demand’s potential over fences, hoping to keep the horse fit for future success.

While Final Demand’s best performances could still be ahead, Drew also holds hope for another remarkable horse, Brave Man’s Game, a King George VI Chase winner. After moving to Marine Pineda’s stable in France, Brave Man’s Game suffered a minor injury and is now recovering in the UK under Tom Scudamore’s care. The prognosis is positive, with surgery in Newmarket going well, and a return to training hoped for within six months. Drew remains realistic and compassionate, ready to retire the horse if he cannot train comfortably, with a possible retirement back in France.

Fan Take: This update is thrilling for horse racing enthusiasts as it highlights the rising stars like Final Demand who could shape future top races. Drew’s story of dedication and partnership also underlines how passion and smart decisions can bring exciting talent to the sport, fueling hope for spectators and owners alike.
