Antoine Semenyo has been linked with a move from Bournemouth in recent weeks.

The 25-year-old has been in impressive form and top teams are interested in securing his presence during the January transfer window. Liverpool and Arsenal could use more quality and depth in the wings and have named the Ghanaian international as a potential target.

He could cost around £65m and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. If the club were willing to wait until the summer transfer window, the asking price would drop to £50 million.

Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider: “Liverpool are his frontrunners and City are currently considering a move to trigger his release clause in January for around £65m.”

“Arsenal are fans and there is a possibility of a move, Tottenham are also fans and Manchester United are interested in Semenyo as well.

“It’s just a matter of whether someone is ready to trigger it and pay that £65m, but we could wait until the summer when the release clause drops to around £50m.

African attackers will be attracted to the idea of joining a big club. He will want to be in the Champions League and fight for the trophy. Meanwhile, Liverpool and Arsenal also need more cutting-edge players in the final third.

Although the asking price is quite high, the player has the ability to justify the investment for the future. It will be interesting to see which of the two clubs is ready to move on.

Liverpool are in dire form at the moment and need to bring in quality players to get back on their feet. Africans can be a game changer for them. Semenyo can play anywhere in the front three and will add goals and creativity to the side. If he can join the defending champions in the coming weeks, it could lift spirits across the club.
