WNBA Legend Delivers Tough Update to Wings’ Paige Bueckers on Azzie Fudd’s Prospects

The 2026 WNBA Draft is packed with impressive talent, and the Dallas Wings will have the chance to pick one player after winning last month’s draft lottery. While the Wings might consider trading their No. 1 overall pick, there isn’t a clear front-runner for the top spot as the draft approaches.

WNBA legend Candace Parker recently expressed her opinion on who the Wings should choose, suggesting they pick college sharpshooter Azi Fudd, who is also the partner of Dallas star Paige Bueckers. Parker mentioned on the latest Post Moves episode that Fudd would be a perfect fit for a team like Minnesota, which is already strong.

Instead, Parker sees TCU guard Olivia Miles—regarded as the best passer in the draft—as the better option for the Dallas Wings. She highlighted that while Paige Bueckers is a scoring guard and skilled passer, Olivia Miles could offer a faster game pace and excellent passing ability that would elevate the team’s offense.

Fudd’s shooting prowess is undeniable, averaging 18.5 points per game with over 50 percent accuracy from beyond the arc this season for the top-ranked Huskies. However, it’s still uncertain if the Wings prioritize Fudd’s shooting or if they lean towards Miles’ playmaking skills, especially since the draft is several months away.

Fan Take: This debate over the top pick underscores the evolving strategies in the WNBA, highlighting how versatility and fit might be as crucial as raw talent. For fans, this decision could shape the future dynamics of the Wings and influence how the league values different playing styles moving forward.
