  • Will Steven Gerrard become Liverpool manager?
  • Gerrard may not be the ideal option

Liverpool manager Arne Slott is under huge pressure after his side’s disappointing results this season.

He was heavily backed during the summer and Liverpool were expected to defend their domestic crown. However, it has been a disappointing season for Liverpool so far. There are also rumors that a Dutch national team coach may be appointed soon.

Will Steven Gerrard become Liverpool manager?

They have been linked with a number of managers in recent weeks, including former club captain Steven Gerrard. According to Football Insider, the 45-year-old is “very keen” to take over at Liverpool.

It will be interesting to see if the club is willing to make changes in the coming weeks. Gerrard has previously managed clubs such as Aston Villa and Rangers. However, he is still largely unproven and anointing him as his successor in the slot would be a big gamble.

The Dutch manager helped them win the league last time out, but Liverpool may need to be more patient with him. They have shown improvement in the last few games against Inter Milan and Brighton. They won both games without conceding a goal. It remains to be seen whether the Dutch national team coach will be able to turn things around.

There is no doubt that Gerrard’s arrival could lift the atmosphere at the club and bring back some feel-good elements. However, Liverpool need a proven manager and the former England midfielder may not be ideal for them. It remains to be seen how the situation will develop.

Liverpool will need to make a realistic decision without getting emotional. They have a talented squad and a top quality manager could take them back to the top of English football. If they decide to get rid of slots, they should consider bringing in players who have won big trophies with big clubs.
