Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races wrapped up its 2025 racing season on Saturday, December 13, recognizing top performers of the year with awards. Arnaldo Bocachica led the jockey standings for the eighth consecutive year, achieving 196 wins out of 598 rides and earning nearly $3.92 million, winning 33% of his races. JD Acosta followed in second with 64 wins, with Dennis Araujo, Victor Rodriguez, and Angel Cruz rounding out the top five jockeys.

Trainer Anthony Faria secured his fourth straight trainer’s championship, finishing first with 130 wins, 16 more than Ronnie Brown who placed second. Jeff Ranko ranked third with 99 wins, followed by Javier Contreras and Kevin Joy. Faria also claimed the earnings title with over $2.39 million, narrowly surpassing Ranko by roughly $80,000.

Nicole and Ronnie Brown led owners with 54 wins, followed by Richard Burnsworth with 47 wins. Casey’s Legacy LLC placed third and also earned the highest owner earnings of $1,031,038. David Raim and Grams Racing LLC completed the top five in wins.

Charles Town Director of Horse Racing Operations Charlie McIntosh praised the 2025 season as one of the strongest yet, crediting the dedication of jockeys, trainers, and owners for delivering thrilling races and enhancing competition. Looking ahead, Charles Town will resume racing on January 2, 2026, kicking off a planned 165 live racing days. The venue’s signature stakes—the Charlestown Classic (G2) and Charlestown Oaks (G2)—are set for August 28, and the 40th West Virginia Breeders Classic will be held on October 10, showcasing homegrown talent, pending final approvals.
