Leicester City are looking to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window.
They have identified Brighton’s Aylan Cashin and Sunderland’s Anthony Patterson as targets (via Foxes of Leicester).
Leicester could use Eilan Cashin
They are very weak defensively and need to improve in that area of the pitch. Kashin could be a quality acquisition for them. Brighton’s defenders will help tighten things up at the back. He has struggled to get opportunities at Premier League clubs and will aim to get his career back on track. Regular football against Leicester in the Championship would also be ideal for Kashin.
It remains to be seen whether Leicester City can secure a deal from Brighton in the coming weeks.
The 24-year-old is no stranger to the Championship, having previously spent time on loan at Birmingham City. He will be able to make an impact right away. His desire to succeed will be an added bonus if Leicester City are able to seal a deal.
Patterson needs movement.
Meanwhile, Patterson has struggled to get regular minutes at Sunderland. He could be an interesting acquisition for the Foxes.
Mr Patterson was highly regarded across England until a few years ago, but his stock price has plummeted in recent years.
He has struggled to get opportunities at Sunderland and it would make sense for him to move. Playing regular football in the Championship will help him regain his form and confidence. If he can impress at Leicester City in the second half of the season, he could earn an impressive move at the end of the season.
Sitting on the bench at Sunderland will not do him any favors. He should leave the club on loan and aim to play regularly in the second half of the season.
Meanwhile, Leicester City are fighting to remain in the Championship. If they sign a quality player in January, their chances of staying will definitely increase. It will be interesting to see if we can sign two players in the coming weeks. They have the quality to help the Foxes improve and could have a decisive impact in the second half of the campaign.
